Mothering Sunday

Today I have traveled home to see my mum as it's Mothering Sunday here in the UK. I have brought with me lots of flowers and plants from eveyone some of which are for her birthday which is on the 23rd.

Remove the fleece

Notes: Remove the fleece from the Peach tree.

Notes: Checked and watered round.

Move some plants from the cool house to the conservatory.

Hosed down the greenhouse and potting shed yard paths.

Notes: Continued to fork over the rose beds, also feed with rose fertiliser.

Notes: Sowed Peas, Broad Beans, Red cabbage, 2 varieties of Tomato, Aubergine, Cosmos, Marrigolds, 2 varieties of Petunia and made a second sowing of Sweet Pea.

Empty the wheel barrow

Notes: Took a barrow load of rubbish to the wood, there was some bindweed, brambles and bad apple from the store.

Notes: Check round and close the air vents.

Notes: Put all the bins and tubs back. Also took away some cardboard boxes for burning at some point.

Notes: Finished constructing the compost bins. Up until now they were just fastened together with twine so I added some more wood to strengthen them and nailed everything in place.

I don't know if you remember but I pruned some of the roses back in November which is not really the recommended time for rose pruning so I thought that as I'm working on the rose beds today I would take a minute to show you how they got on. As you will see they took no harm from having an early trim, in fact they are more advanced than the ones I pruned at the so called right time.

This morning we went for a walk around Exmouth taking in a few if the sights.

Seaton

We have just had lunch and a walk along the sea front at Seaton. I think that Sidmouth is the nicer place but its okay here, especially as its a nice sunny day.
