What happened to Lisa's puppy?

Perhaps no one who reads this watched the TV series 'IRT Deadliest Roads' but if you did, like us you will perhaps be wondering what happened to Lisa Kelly's puppy. Well if so click [here] and it will explain all.

For those that didn't watch the series - what you playin' at!

Have a nice day.

The truth is often spoken in jest.

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a man below. He descended a bit more and shouted, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The man below replied, "You're in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude." "You must be in engineering," said the balloonist. "I am," replied the man, "How did you know?" "Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I'm still lost Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If anything, you've delayed my trip." The man below responded, "You must be in Management." "I am", replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?" "Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my f*ckin' fault."

A view from the village.

Today has been another day spent doing work in the greenhouse and potting shed. I also did some repair work on the old conservatory. One of the main structural pieces has become rotten and is due to be replaced. Because its rotten it isn't supporting the glass properly which has left a big hole in the roof which is not what you want at this time of year when you are trying to get plants to grow so I set to and made it so that the glass could be put back in place until it can be repaired properly.

The greenhouse work was mainly repotting plants that I was intending moving in the conservatory. They have to pass through the potting shed on the way to the conservatory so they may as will stop off and get potted up along the way if they are in need of it. I also potted on some cuttings, I have some more to pot up some time.

Marguerite cuttings.

Tonight when I was out with Tommy I took this picture of the village for you. We don't usually go this way but with all the rain the tracks are very muddy so we went though the village instead.

A turn for the worse.

I reckon it will be an afternoon spent in the potting shed as the weather has taken a turn for the worse. Not that I'm bothered about getting wet but I have some inside work to do so I may as well do it on a day like this than a nice day.

Uninspired.

I have to say that as far as it stands so far there is absolutely nothing inspiring about today. Apart from the usual grey its damp and cold. A good day to stay in bed.

A day of rest.

I have good news - Vicki says I can have a puppy!! Well actually what she said was that she didn't want me to have a dog that was already grown which sort of says I can have a puppy - doesn't it?

Sunday is a day of rest for me so that's about all there is to report, if you want to read more take a look at my Sunday post on Tippy's blog, just click HERE it's quite a fun post.

Border Collie Fun Friday.

It's been a while since I shared a Border Collie video with you, this one comes from letsitsme's Youtube channel As you can see they do some really fun tricks which to me are amazing and a joy to watch, what an awesome bond they have.

It doesn't fit to well on this template but if you click on the very bottom right corner you can make it go full page.

A clean hansom boy.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all feeling okay.

Thanks for all your thoughts with regard to the insurance carry on, I will tell you I'm not down hearted about it and merely mention it as an observation. I'm sure one day they will finally get everything sorted out. Thankfully we are no longer struggling to make ends meet as the tenant we have in our house is now paying the rent and also we did get one pay out from the insurance.

HORIZON made a comment about getting a new dog, Have you seen the new pups they have at Wiccaweys? Take a look [Here] if you haven't, save one for me though - in fact I may have two... or three ha ha! Also while you're there - assuming you're like me and can't resist a peek - take a look at Mack who I featured in one of my previous posts - by the way did I tell you I want Mack as well!! Anyway if you want to cut to the chase and catch right up with Mack click [Here] Doesn't he look a nice clean hansom boy after his bath?

I know you shouldn't pick a dog on looks but just for fun which one would you go for? I quite like Annie but she would need to like attaching herself to my left as I already have a dog attached to my right. Benny and Joon are lovely too but I would feel bad about splitting them up so you know what that would mean! Then there is daisy, how could you resist daisy? Look at those eyes! How would you choose? I gotta stop lookin at that site lol!

Today I managed to locate a couple of trees that were missing from the main order that I made the other week, I placed the order over the telephone and the guy said they should be with us next week. The trees I ordered today are Cupressus sempervirens Stricta They are very narrow growing conifers, you often see them growing in Italian gardens

I took these pictures for you today as I haven't really shown you what is in flower in the gardens for a while. These are a dwarf Iris which act similar to Crocus in that they die back in time, they are only in evidence for a few months of the year unlike normal Iris which have foliage even when there is no flower to be seen. These are very delicate in appearance and a welcome treat for a grey February day.

Be careful what you wish for.

AN Aussie truckie walks into an outback cafe with a full-grown emu behind him.

The waitress asks them for their orders.

The truckie says, 'A hamburger, chips and a coke,' and turns to the emu, 'What's yours?'
'Sounds great, I'll have the  same,' says the emu.

A short time later the waitress returns with the order 'That will be $9.40  please,' and he reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change and pays.

The next day, the man and the emu come again and he says, 'A hamburger, chips and a coke.'
The emu says, ' Sounds great, I'll have the same.'

Again the truckie reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.

This becomes routine until the two enter again. 'The usual?' asks the waitress.

'No, it's Friday night, so I'll have a steak, baked potato and a salad,' says the man..
' Same for me,' says the emu.

Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, 'That will be $32.62.'

Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table.

The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. 'Excuse me mate, how do you manage to always pull the exact change from your pocket every time?'

'Well, love' says  the  truckie, 'a few years ago, I was cleaning out the back shed, and found an old lamp. When I cleaned it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes.

My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.'

'That's brilliant!' says the waitress. 'Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want, for as long as you live!'

'That's right. Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there.' says the man.
Still curious the waitress asks, 'What's with the bloody emu?'

The truckie pauses, sighs, and answers, 'My second wish was for a tall bird with a big arse and long legs, who agrees with everything I say.

How Times Change.

This weekend me and Tom are visiting home, we arrived last night (Friday) and will leave on Sunday some time.
It’s always good to come here if for no other reason than one if forced to take it easy as all the usual things that take up your time are missing. There was a time not so long ago when my mobile phone didn’t even get a signal here so usually the days are spent reading and talking and of course taking Tommy for a walk. Today we went for a walk in the forest not far from where I first discovered lying in the grass by the side of the road. I don’t think he remembers anything about that anymore instead he concentrates on all the new sniffs which seem to be different to the ones where we live now.
There was a time not so long ago when Tommy would go crazy when passing other dogs so there was quite a rewarding moment today when we met someone with three dogs all off their leads one of whom instantly set about Tommy jumping on him and barking but apart from a low growl Tommy ignored it even though I could tell he was busting to sort it out. So I was really proud of him and how far he’s come since I found him five years ago.

Moving on.

Its not been much of a break but its not good to hang around on a day like this. The wind is cold and the rain lashing down, I love it - must be the border collie in me!

Wet day for a walk.

These messages will be short I'm afraid as its throwing down which is not good for my phone. I will attempt to post a few pics as I go though.

This one is at the start of the walk and is of the Derwent Dam.

February Tree

Can you believe it, it's a month but for a few days since I took a picture of the tree. I think it was the 5th of January to be precise but I've decided that it will be better to take the picture on the first day of every month that way I will remember it better. Anyway here are the two months so far, there isn't much difference apart from the latest one is lighter so all in all that's a good sign that we are progressing in the right direction.
January
February

Today has been a little frustrating for me because it was a lovely day out but this afternoon I was force to spend my time indoors doing office work that I've been putting off for a month in the hope of being forced indoors by bad weather but we haven't had any so now I have to catch up whether I like it or not. I have some trees to try and find for the boss, one of which doesn't even show up on Google so goodness knows where he's seen it. Most of the others I can find but it means going to about six different suppliers for them. Also I am needing to order some more flower seeds, I'm not in desperate need of them but I don't want to leave these things until the very last minute.

This morning I was able to get going straight off with forking over the west shrub border, I would have finished it if I could have stuck at it, hopefully tomorrow will see the end of it although I need to finish off the office work first. What I need is a foot of snow then I won't feel so guilty about being indoors.
