I haven't done a Border Collie fun Friday post in ages so when I saw this the other day it inspired me to make the effort. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. I love the way Tommy listens to his master so intently, I think he understands every word he says to him which makes him smarter than me because I hardly understand any of it! Anyway here it is, and I hope it helps you all have a great weekend.

Flyball Training.

Hello everyone, Have you had a good day? Today I have been lifting the potato crop at work, I am pleased with them as there is a good amount of large ones which seem sound and blight free. It always pays to keep an eye on them through the winter though. The other thing is to find somewhere cool dark and frost free, oh yes and be sure to watch out for mice or even rats, both of which are good at sniffing out food as winter sets in.

As promised below is the video of Tess doing a couple of runs during last Saturdays Flyball training. If you turn up the volume you can hear Fallon shouting encouragement.

Tomcam version 2.1.

I've recently been working on version 2 of 'Tomcam' the video below was actually made with version 2.1 and is just a bit of a fun video we took whilst I was trying a new collar attachment. In the video you will see me playing around with Tess. You will probably notice that when I am trying to get her to lie down Tommy is the one doing the lying down. I have to laugh sometimes because when I am trying to get her to do things I turn round to find Tommy already did it, it's sort of like he is showing her what to do behind my back. Oh yes, in the video you will hear me telling her first to sit and then lie down which might sound a bit confusing but the reason is that at the moment we have to go through the sitting position to get to lying down with maybe a paw shake thrown in for good meassure. She does do the lie down quite well most of the time although it isn't so obvious in the video, what is more obvious is that she will sit and stay very well now. Anyway I will let you watch the video which is a bit rough in places but it was just a bit of fun with the dogs really.

Tess playing with a clothes hanger.

I took this video tonight of Tess playing with a clothes hanger which she just pinched from the bedroom. If you can hear things crashing to the floor, teeth gnawing, something bouncing off the walls like a power ball, don't worry too much it will only be Tess. If the house falls silent and you've actually managed to stay seated for more than two minutes, that is the time to worry. If you can't see Tess I will tell you now she is at the far end of the trail of chewed up twigs, discarded shoes, flower petals and toys.

When you see her hanging on to the ball it's not because she won't let me have it, it's a soft ball and it gets stuck on her sharp little teeth. Also you will notice her stop and look up at the sky, there was a crow that took her attention, she is quite easily distracted at the moment.

As it's a Friday and I don't have much else to say I am going to post Border Collie Video. This video is from 'azyouwish' channel on Youtube, if you want to go look for yourself [Here].

The trick itself isn't all that amazing compared to some that I've shown on here but the puppy is to die for!! Also wouldn't it be something to look forward to, if she is retrieving balls at 9 weeks old I reckon she will be doing loads of stuff in time.

I’m sorry but I think perhaps I didn’t make myself very clear yesterday when I said about posting a new video. As some of you know I try and post a fun video on a Friday to get the weekend off to a good start, usually of a Border Collie. I have to confess that I don’t do it just for your satisfaction as I have so much fun from going through all those video’s picking out something I think you might like to see. Anyway I know some of you thought it was going to be another one of/by Tommy but I’m afraid Tommy is suffering from film producers block at the moment so has got Speedy to stand in for him again. You may remember Speedy and letsitsme from a few weeks ago, well this is another video from them. I’m afraid that I can’t tell you what the writing says because unlike Border Collies I don’t understand much French (assuming that's what it is) but I’m sure that when you see the video you will understand what it’s all about. I love to see the progression of the act from beginning to end. I could watch it over and, and over again – what am I talking about, I have watched it over and over again! Tommy says that he hopes I’m not going to get any bright ideas about making him do a darn fool trick like that! Tommy is a lot of things but agile isn’t one of them, getting into the car is akin to climbing Mount Everest to Tommy so I think if we attempted anything like in the video I would just end up with a face full of big black dog. Anyway take a look at this and I hope it puts as much fun in to your day as it does mine, also maybe if you have time take a look at Lets Youtube channel as I’m sure you will be amazed at what she gets up to with Speedy.
