Had to new the Broccoli and Brussels as the pigeons and rabbits are eating them. Lifted what was left of the Swedes as the net wouldn’t cover those as well so have taken them to store.

Finished burning what was already at the pile and then carted some more rubbish from the rock garden on the north front and also cut out and burnt some Elders that were growing out of a Yew tree.

NOTES
1) We had a bit more snow last night and its snowing really hard again tonight and I believe that some parts of the country have had heavy rain and flooding. However before anyone starts feeling sorry for themselves just spare a thought for all those poor people in Australia that have been burnt out of house and home, and worse, all because someone thought it would be fun to start a fire.

More lovely photos. I must say, I have never seen a sheep quite like that in the states. I wonder if we even have them here, or if I just lead a sheltered existence. He looks a bit scary.
Sounds like you are finally getting winter weather, while we are having our February thaw, also known as mud season. I prefer clean, fresh snow.
Gday Bob, Thanks for your concern for us Aussies.. Its quite sickening to think some has deliberately lit some of these fires. Tonights news said they were getting close to arresting a person or persons and charging them with Murder I that person rots in hell..I have posted some pics on the devasting fires.. update death toll now 187.

Agree about Australia Bob - I think they are in everyone's thoughts. Do you have problems with rabbits in your veggie garden?
Sara We have our fair share of mud here too at the moment as my poor boots will testify to. never mind, spring is getting closer by the day.
Jeanette Well lets hope they get the people who did set some of the fires. If I had my way they would get paraded in front of all the people who lost everything but I guess thats not PC - ha! You also have to remember all the animals that died too.
The Weaver of Grass I notice there have been rabbits in the garden, you can see their prints in the snow but they don't usually do any damage. The veg plot is in a walled garden so its not so easy for the rabbits to get in provided people keep the gates closed. The birds are the worst pests.
