  • Summer-fruiting raspberries behave like blackberries, fruiting on one-year-old canes that are cut out after harvest and then replaced by the young canes. I tie in each cane so that they are 4 to 6 inches apart and then trim of the end of each cane to a bud so leaving them around 5 feet tall.
  • Autumn-fruiting varieties, however, are cut to the ground in late winter to make way for new canes that will grow from the base and fruit the same year.

You have lost me on lemon curd sandwich and lemon curd fingers. I love lemon desserts.

Great photo of the day.

The bouquet is beautiful!

Maybe I would feel like I accomplished more in a day if I wrote it all down? You always seem to get so much done!

Vicki's bouquet is beautiful!

I just bought a little jar of lemon curd (because I'd never tried it and love lemon)...do you just spread the lemon curd on bread...pardon my ignorance...and the lemon curd fingers, what are they? I just ate my lemon curd straight out of the bottle, delicious! Won't be having it again anytime soon though trying to keep my weight down!

Very interesting about the raspberries! Sell them? Can them? Freeze them?
