Mortgage increase.

Some of you may remember that back in May we put our house up for sale and planned on buying another place to rent as a holiday cottage click HERE Well the way it's turned out we have decided that because of the situation with the housing market at the moment it will be better to hang on to the place we have and just continue to rent it out but before we can do that we need to do some renovation work on it as it's got pretty run down so today we went to see about getting an increase on our mortgage so that we can carry out the upgrades to the property. Everything seems to be fine with that and we now need to get something sorted out with a builder with a view to getting the work done, we will obviously be taking it off the market now too.

At work today I made the first picking of the plums, I picked just over three kilo's which I will take to the hall in the morning.

Plums hanging on the tree.

We are doing the same with our house...fixing it up to rent out, until the housing market picks back up. Real estate can be so stressful, but a good investment in the long run.

I'm guessing this is an extra house and not the one you live in. We have a property in the city that we should have sold three years ago but have been holding on to it since our daughter and her family live next door and the fence encompasses both properties. The house is in great decay, needs to be rewired and replumbed and we sometimes still use it when we go in town so it's not possible to rent it out. Now of course, property values have gone down. We're hoping things will be some improved by next summer as our daughter will be ready to sell then and we'll put both lots up for sale together. we think we will get more that way instead of two separate lots.

Good luck with your house, When I put my house on the market last year it sold on the 5th day. My family and friends said it was Divine intervention and I tend to agree with them.

Good luck, just repairing things is a full time job here.

There is nothing quite a sweet as a fully ripe plum, you just can't buy them.
