New computer.

Hello everyone, I haven't been on this blog for a while, mainly because there hasn't really been much to report and also I have been sorting out the best way to record the information needed for my diary blog. If you read that blog you will see in yesterdays post click [HERE] that I was looking to buy a new PC with my Christmas bonus that I get with work. Believe it or not I have been going to buy a new PC with it for the past six years but for one reason or another something else came along so that I always ended up spending the money on something else instead. I did get a small refurbished notebook last year which is great for occassional use away from my desk but it's not something I would want to use all the time as my main computer. So after talking to Vicki about it and  looking in depth last night and sleeping on it I decided to go for what is called a desktop replacement laptop. Basically it's a big laptop that you can use to replace your desktop PC but has the advantage of being semi portable. Actually it's completely portable but it is quite big and heavy so not something you would want to be carrying around all the time.
The laptop I ordered this morning.

I spend a lot of time fiddling around on my computer so I am looking forward to having my first new computer in years. It's being delivered by Parcelforce 24 hour delivery so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be here tomorrow. I've had confirmation that it's been dispatched so I don't see why it shouldn't.

It looks like it will do the job very nicely !
I tend to stick to desktop PC's, I find laptops a bit fiddly :)
Have the winds died down yet ?

Glad for your new computer, Bob!
Mrs. Jim and I use a laptop for EVERYTHING! We don't even have a working desk top in the house.

I don't think you'll be disappointed, it looks and sounds 'just the ticket' I have a desktop and a laptop, but the DT is just so slow, I'd really like to dispense with it and just use the laptop, but I'm frightened to just in case I lose something important, even though I have transferred loads on to an external drive. I'll take the plunge one day as I could use the space.
