Delphinium Crown Bud Cuttings Update.

This is the final update for a while of the Delphinium crown bud cuttings. Yesterday I potted them on into slightly bigger pots where they will stay for the winter.

All the cuttings have taken, the one in the picture below being one of the weakest but as you can see even that has a nice root system and should eventually produce a good plant.

Below are the plants all potted on in to bigger pots where they will stay until next spring when they will probably be potted on again. They could be planted out in the garden but I prefer to baby them until they are big and strong before planting out.

Good to see you had success with the cuttings, they will make a lovely display in the garden.

Brilliant. Well done.

Thanks Doc. I find it interesting that you can produce so many new plants from what was a relatively small donor plant and all should be the same as the original unlike seed which could turn out to be anything.

Thanks John, I quite enjoy doing things like that. I will be able to make use of these plants in the future as there is always plenty of places around here that needs a plant in it.

they look nice and healthy, its good to keep favourite plants going and not have to spend a fortune to get more.

Yes they are doing well. Cuttings from crown buds are something new for me so it was interesting in that respect. I'm a bit of a devil with propagating and often end up with a load of plants that I don't know what to do with.
