Fruit and flower.

I noticed this the other day on one our apple trees. It has fruit and blossom on at the same time which I don't ever recall seeing before. I will keep a close eye on the flowers to see how they progress. I can't imagine they will come to much but it will be interesting none the less.

I suppose it isn't surprising with the weird weather all over the world.

Everything is so confused.

Hope we get a long, late Summer. There are so many buds on flowers and veg that need a few more weeks to come to fruition!

I have a Lemon tree that fruits and flowers at the same time Susan, and I believe that in their native climate figs fruit all the time too so maybe with the nice summer we have had the same sort of thing is happening to the apple tree.

That is true Ellen, me included. Nothing makes much sense to me anymore.

That would be nice Belinda. I don't mind a proper winter but not the damp grey miserable things we seem to get these days.

This happened to me via one of my native berry plants just recently. I have never seen blooms on them as they were dying (ie. ending the season). They will be back again next year -- I grow them for the blooms -- berries a favorite too, tho' few and far between as they are a wild plant and mainly grown to have a wild habitat. Lots of weird growth noticed this year... Despite lack of watering.

(Found you via Claire's... Not the first time.)
