The Last Shoot.

MY PENNINE WAY PICTURE FOR TODAY
Malham Tarn on a very wet day. The way goes all the way around the Tarn (Lake).

Put the recycle tubs back

NOTES
1) After putting back the recycle tubs at the hall I went to collect ours only to find that the woman next door has run over it and broken it! How do I know it’s the woman next door? Well you don’t watch 324 episodes of CSI and goodness knows how many ‘Police Camera Action’ shows without picking up a thing or two! Actually she was parked on the grass so it was easy enough to follow her wheel marks firstly over the grass and secondly over our tub.
2) The lord and master is up from London for the weekend but I only saw him from a distance so unless I happen to bump in to him this weekend I don’t think I will get to see him before he returns.
3) Today was the last shoot of the season, not the pheasants can rest easy for a while, what’s left of them. I think I must be lacking something somewhere because I can’t for the life of me see where the pleasure is in spending a whole day killing things, I guess it must be a challenge or something.

COMMENTS FROM THE POTTING SHED
Annie Wicking Thanks Annie I will sure try and have a good weekend. Glad you like the pics, there are plenty more to come.
The Weaver of Grass Well there is no big hole to swallow all the water up, it just soaks in to the ground, you can even walk on where it disappears and its solid enough, after that I suppose it just follows underground caves. I've actually amended what I said last night because in fact it doesn't come out at the bottom of the cove as you would think, instead this water emerges at Aire Head Springs. The water at the cove comes from the moor one and a half miles away.

Your notes had me laughing! I hope your neighbor fesses up and offers to get you a new recycling bin.

I don't see hunting as much of a challenge - man with gun vs. innocent, helpless creature. Seems to me, the gun always has the advantage.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comment. Now that looks like a long and busy day - I am exhausted just reading it :) I imagine that you enjoy your job though. I chuckled at your detective skills.

I suppose killing pheasants must be a nasty habit that you can't break (like picking your nose!) all very well to shoot one for the table, but to go out and do loads is not sensible.

Hi Bob, I am sorry for your bucket. We just have one, it is for glass, paper, plastic and maybe cans (I forgot). The 'machine' sorts it out at the recycle place. I was given two buckets but the neighbor didn't get any so we shared.

Dad used to hunt pheasants a little on his small farm. Mostly it was rabbits. My mom wouldn't cook anything wild so he had to take them to Grandma to do the cooking.

Do you celebrate/observe Ground Hog Day there? Unfortunately we do and in return this year he is giving us six more weeks of winter.

Speaking of winter I see a lot snow in London (TV), are you getting some? On the farms the moisture is always welcome as I remember.
