Bring On The Snow

MY PENNINE WAY PICTURE FOR TODAY
The climb to Great Shunner Fell, another hill with no view. After a day without rain it was back with a vengeance at this point as you will be able to tell by looking at the path.

Looking back to Thwaite, the weather had cleared by now and I'd seen the last of the rain for this day.

NOTES
1) Last winter I removed all the brass door fittings and removed the tarnish and polished them up so I try and keep them bright and shiny when time permits which isn’t very often during the summer months but when the weather is like this it’s a good time to shine them up again.
2) I bumped in to the secretary on my way round for my lunch break and she said they bought me some grit/salt. Risking a rude reply I asked where she wanted me to put it and she replied by suggesting I put some on the main drive. After pointing out to her that the main drive was clear of both snow and ice she had no more idea than I where it was for so we agreed to save it for another time – so bring on the snow!
3) I was surprised when I went to the hall to put the bins out, so surprised in fact that I had to check my PDA to see if it was a black bin week. They have 3 bins and usually they’re all bursting at the seams but this time there was only one bin half filled.
4) There was no real need to take across anymore hay now that there are only half as many sheep but it was a bit too early to finish so I thought if I got a good stock on in the feeder I wouldn’t need to take so much over the weekend.

Hi Bob, thanks for waking me up. I don't want to trade weather with you, ours looks like this: (Lows: 50's°)
Today - High: 71° - Mostly Clear
Thursday - High: 74° - Partly Cloudy
Friday - High: 76° - Scattered T-storms
Saturday - High: 67° - Partly Cloudy
Sunday - High: 68° - Few Showers

We had a storm last night. It was a lot worse in North Texas. These people had hail, tornados, and lots of rain.

That milkman did have 'snow brains' I do believe. How did he get out? There sure were a lot of tracks around there, I don't see how anyone could pick out a rabbit track in that snow?

I am liking your Pennine Way Picture feature. Thank you.

The one with the road going down hill reminded me of when we were in Scotland we took this narrow short cut to Balmoral and some sheep were out in the ditch. They were frightened and running up and down.
We drove over to the farmhouse and alerted the owners. They said they were the 'shepherds' and would get them back into their pasture.
On that road it was one lane with spots every half mile or so where cars could pass eachother by.

Gday Bob,,another group of photo's ive missed ... lovely waterfall.. . Maybe a silly question bob but why the Grit,Salt and what do use it on?...

Theyve arrested one person for arson but havent heard much about it...I think with all the devastion and heart ache and Animal stories all making headlines he has been pushed into the background or in hiding i think theres a lot of people would like to get to him..
