salina Well I can’t say that any such occasion is harmonious, I usually end up feeling like I’ve been stitched up one way or another.
Jeanette Yes it’s much warmer now, no more ice to break, hopefully it will stay that way now. I thought I would give the menu a break, I don’t want to go getting the food police over excited.

Your picture of the low force reminded me of that lovely brown peaty water I saw at Aysgarth force in Yorkshire last year! Herriot country!
Do you have a pretty good success rate with the seeds you plant? Do you have any tricks to ensuring they grow?
Gday Bob,, Hope your weather keeps on getting warmer..it strange to see you getting ready to plant your summer vegies,, when ours are just on there last legs still getting a couple of cucumbers but the tomatoes are just about finished..
By the way I havent seen a quince tree since I was a kid.I think they were rather a large trees... Mum used to make quince Jelly and I remember we always had it on fresh bread. I must look see if you can buy quince jelly and try it after all these years...
An espalliered quince - and an apricot. That does sound quintessencially Big House! My parents' garden in France has several huge fig trees, which get so full of fruit the branches sometimes break.
I'm very interested in the training though - of your trees, Bob. I've noticed that good training makes the branches into something very pleasing, somehow, even if it's only a simple shape.
