BOB’S BANQUETS
Breakfast: 1 mug of tea and 3 Shredded Wheat
Tea Break: 1 mug of tea.
Lunch: 1 mug of tea, 4 toasted tea cakes.
Dinner: 1 glass of peach juice and tonic water, meat pie and veg.
COMMENTS FROM THE POTTING SHED
The Weaver of Grass I’m pleased to hear that your climbing rose is growing okay, roses are a lots tougher than people give them credit for. I saw somewhere a while ago that some organisation did trails on different pruning methods and it was clear that the best way to prune roses was with the hedge cutter! There were many more flowers than on the ones pruned in the normal way. I think it would be frowned upon if I were to take the hedge cutter to the ones at the big house though.

First off, I am glad that "Bob's Banquets" is still around. I was thinking while I've been reading about the different things you do, the preparations, what time of year you do them, and figuring you have done this for a long time. Do you have a favorite thing to do? Is there something that never gets old, but is always a favorite? What would that be, if you have one?

Someone once told me that the best way to get your roses pruned well was to ask your worst enemy to do them just after you had had a blazing row!
Red Clover What a really good question and one I can’t rightly answer straight off. I wonder in fact if maybe you have to divide it up a little because as the year goes round you take on different types of work so things are always changing, I will have to give it more thought and let you know.
Jeanette The tea cakes are also known as hot cross buns, it’s like bread with currants in. I saw a bit of what it’s like in your part of the world last weekend, even got to look at some of the fire damage with Mark Webber.
The Weaver of Grass I think that makes a lot of sense, apart from the roses enjoying the rough treatment it would be great seeing them ripping your worst enemy to shreds!!!
